Vodafone has partnered up with Netflix in an exclusive promotional partnership in the hope of clawing back lost ground in the UKs 4G market.
Vodafone’s Red 4G plan subscribers will be able to watch a range of movies and TV box sets on their smartphones, tablets or other Vodafone devices for a period of six months from July.
Vodafone already has Spotify and Sky Sports on board, so far focussing on content as it seeks customers for its 4G network. While major rival EE has focused on pushing its network coverage and speed.
EE’s approach so far seems to be working as it was announced this week that it had hit 3.6million subscribers, with the target of hitting six million of end of 2014. Meanwhile Vodafone announced results that it had attached 637,000 4G subscribers in the UK.
